WINDS WERE 20 KNOTS FOR MOST OF THE DAY, SO I THINK THE BASS JUST TOOK A DAY OFF. WE SWITCHED TO FLUKE FISHING AND CAUGHT FLUKE USING 12 OZ. SINKERS.

Nicky and his crew of Nick and George from Brooklyn fished their hearts out for eight hrs (so did Wayne the mate ,and the Capt.), with no Stripers to show for it. We had a stiff easterly wind all day, but i don’t know if that was the cause of the poor fishing. I read stripers and blues and bunker all day on the fishfinder, but only a hand full of blues were biting.  So after two days of outstanding fishing, we had to chalk this one up to paying our dues.
May 24th, 2011

After making a five mile move, Roderick and his crew of six anglers from Elmira NY limited out on striped bass, chunking clams up north. Fishing was so good the crew gave up after we started throwing them back.
